Overview
New Delhi is the planned, ceremonial half of the capital: wide avenues, colonial-era government buildings and some of the finest Mughal architecture in India, all within easy reach of one another.
This half-day tour takes in six landmarks at an unhurried pace. Pickup is at 9:00 AM from your hotel anywhere in Delhi/NCR, or from the airport if you are arriving that morning, and you are back by around 3:00 PM — leaving the rest of your day free.

Qutub Minar
Start at the 73-metre victory tower built in 1193, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the tallest brick minaret in the world. The complex also holds the famous Iron Pillar, rust-free after 1,600 years.

Lotus Temple
Visit the Bahá'í House of Worship, whose twenty-seven marble petals form a lotus in bloom. Open to all faiths, its silent central hall seats 1,300 people.

Humayun's Tomb
Explore the first great Mughal garden tomb, built in 1570 and a UNESCO World Heritage Site — the direct architectural ancestor of the Taj Mahal.

India Gate
Stop at the 42-metre memorial arch honouring 90,000 Indian soldiers, standing at the eastern end of the ceremonial Kartavya Path.

Rashtrapati Bhavan and Parliament House
Drive the length of Kartavya Path past the President's residence — 340 rooms, designed by Edwin Lutyens — and the circular colonnade of Sansad Bhavan, India's Parliament. Both are photographed from outside.
